Consultant Anaesthetist | Major Regional Referral Service | $230m Redevelopment The Opportunity A permanent Consultant Anaesthetist opportunity is available within the primary regional health service for a large Victorian catchment of approximately 150,000 people.
Following a $230m redevelopment, this expanded referral hospital now operates with significantly increased inpatient, ICU and emergency capacity.
You will provide anaesthetic care across elective and emergency services, with involvement in peri-operative medicine, pain management, education and service leadership.
This is a modern regional service offering clinical depth, infrastructure investment and long-term stability.
The Hospital This major regional referral hospital functions as the central provider for surrounding communities and delivers comprehensive acute and specialist services.
Recent redevelopment includes: • Five-storey inpatient expansion • 64 additional inpatient beds • 10-bed Intensive Care Unit • 12-bed maternity unit • 44-point Emergency Department The Anaesthesia Department supports varied trauma, emergency and elective caseloads within a collaborative consultant-led model.
The service is accredited for 52 weeks of ANZCA training , reflecting a strong supervision and teaching culture.
