Emergency Medicine Consultant | Rural Referral Hospital | Redeveloped ED The Opportunity We are currently engaging with FACEMs and substantially comparable Emergency Medicine specialists interested in practising within a well-established regional referral hospital in Western Australia.
This Emergency Department manages approximately 20,000+ presentations annually and provides broad, high-acuity emergency care to a vast regional and remote catchment.
The role offers significant clinical autonomy and exposure to presentations not commonly encountered in metropolitan centres.
This position will appeal to Emergency Medicine specialists seeking genuine rural scope, procedural confidence and meaningful clinical impact.
The Hospital This 130 bed regional public hospital serves as the primary acute referral centre for its region.
The facility has undergone a $60 million redevelopment including: • Recent Emergency Department • High Dependency Unit (HDU) • Upgraded medical imaging • Palliative care services The Emergency Department: • 20,000+ annual presentations • Supported by HDU and inpatient services • ACEM accredited training site (12 months) • Broad adult and paediatric case mix • Strong rural and remote referral exposure The hospital provides a secure and collegial clinical environment with consultant leadership.
