The General Medicine service manages complex acute presentations across a vast regional and remote catchment.
Physicians practise broad-scope medicine within a high-acuity workplace, supported by established subspecialty teams and critical care services.

The Hospital This is the principal tertiary referral hospital for the Northern Territory, delivering comprehensive secondary and tertiary services.
The service includes: • Acute General Medicine at tertiary scale • Strong Emergency Department integration • ICU and subspecialty backup across major disciplines • Infectious diseases and complex chronic disease exposure • Regional and remote referral coordination • Teaching hospital environment The hospital supports structured registrar training and maintains strong links to metropolitan tertiary centres.
