The Environment Advisor supports REMONDIS operations nationally with environmental compliance, planning, risk and regulatory guidance.
The role helps sites meet obligations, maintain licences and approvals, manage incidents, complete audits, and improve environmental systems.
Working with operations, HSEQ and regulators, it drives performance, continuous improvement and legal compliance.
Waste, recycling or resource recovery experience and relevant tertiary qualifications are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities Provide environmental compliance, planning and regulatory support to national operations.
Help business units maintain licences, approvals and statutory obligations.
Support planning approvals, development applications and environmental assessments for operations and growth projects.
Assist with incident investigations, corrective actions and regulatory reporting.
Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments to identify obligations and improvement opportunities.
Improve environmental management systems, standards and procedures.
Liaise with regulators, planning authorities, consultants and external stakeholders.
Provide environmental and planning advice to operations, HSEQ and management.
Support environmental due diligence for acquisitions, projects and operational changes.
Prepare licence and corporate environmental performance reports.
Deliver environmental training and awareness initiatives.
Contribute to projects that improve compliance, efficiency and environmental outcomes.
Support sites during audits, inspections and regulatory interactions.
Monitor environmental and planning legislation, policy and industry best practice.
Work with internal stakeholders, including Environment,
Health Safety, Technical, M A, HSEQ and site teams.
Engage external stakeholders, including regulators, councils, agencies, industry bodies, customers, consultants and contractors.
Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Planning or a related discipline.
Experience working in environmental compliance/advisory, environmental planning, consulting or a related field.
Understanding of environmental legislation, regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
Knowledge of environmental planning, approvals and licensing processes.
Technical report writing and environmental documentation skills.
Environmental auditing, inspections and risk assessment capability.
Incident investigation and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Robust administrative, analytical and project coordination skills.
Understanding in financial literacy and budget management capability.
