About the Role
As the Tree Management Officer, you will:
Undertake inspections of Council's public tree assets and program, monitor and supervise related works.
Administer relevant State legislation, Council policies, approvals and resolutions affecting trees, vegetation and landscape matters on public land.
Provide expert advice to the community, Council staff and stakeholders on tree management issues.
Oversee audits and risk assessments of Council's tree assets to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
Manage, monitor and supervise internal providers and external contractors undertaking works on Council tree assets.
Manage Council's customer request and asset management systems to schedule, track and complete works related to Council's tree assets.
Liaise with residents and the community to identify tree maintenance requirements and communicate Council's tree management policies and procedures.
What You'll Bring:
Diploma of Arboriculture – AQF Level 5.
A current Class C Driver Licence.
Extensive experience undertaking tree assessments in line with industry standards.
Detailed knowledge and experience of arboriculture,



plant and tree identification, amenity horticulture and weed control.
Demonstrated experience supervising operational staff or contractors to ensure health and safety standards are met.
High-level communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with Council staff, government agencies and community members.
Solid computer skills, with proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and GIS applications.
Extensive experience following safe operating procedures in accordance with relevant codes, regulations and standards, with a commitment to WHS and EEO principles.
NSW WHS White Card.
Chainsaw Operation Certificate of Competence.
Herbicide Application Accreditation.
An appropriate traffic control licence.
