Darlot Site Overview With over a century of mining history, Darlot is a cornerstone operation of Vault Minerals Limited producing high-grade gold production.
The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
What we offer: This position will be offered on an 14:14 FIFO roster from Perth An hour flight time from Perth to Leonora and Virgin Velocity Frequent flyer points Competitive Salary on a fortnightly pay cycle Referral program allowing you to earn up to $6,000 for referring new employees Career development opportunities and great company culture The Long Hole Drill Operator is responsible for the provision of a quality and timely long hole drilling service of the ore body as instructed, ensuring operational targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally compliant manner.
All activities must align with Vault Minerals' quality standards, mine operational procedures, and statutory mining legislation.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:



Operate long hole production drills safely and efficiently for stope production purposes.
Set up drilling rigs accurately according to drill designs and plans.
Perform collaring, drilling, and reaming activities to mine plans and survey specifications.
Monitor drilling operations and ground conditions; report any hazards or inconsistencies.
Carry out minor troubleshooting, adjustments, and first-line maintenance on drill rigs.
Complete pre-start checklists, shift reports, and hole progress logs accurately.
Coordinate with the Mining Engineers, Surveyors, and Supervisors to optimise drilling accuracy and performance.
Maximise rig utilisation by ensuring timely setup, relocation, auto-drilling at end of shift and shift handovers.
Manage drill consumables efficiently and report shortages promptly.
