Primary Leadership Prospect | **** Start Lead Pastoral Care, Wellbeing Student Support Growing Independent School Assistant Head of Primary - Pastoral Care Full Time | **** Commencement | Independent School | Perth South Our client is a growing Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 Independent co-educational school with a solid focus on creating a welcoming school community where students feel known, valued and supported.
With continued growth across the school, an exciting opportunity is available for a suitably qualified and experienced educator to join the Primary leadership team as Assistant Head of Primary, commencing in ****.
This is an excellent opportunity for an educator with demonstrated pastoral leadership experience who is passionate about student wellbeing, positive relationships and creating a strong sense of belonging within a school community.
The Opportunity Working closely with the Head of Primary and wider Primary leadership team, the Assistant Head of Primary will take a key role in supporting the wellbeing, behaviour and pastoral development of students across the Primary School.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance to staff, support students and families, and help ensure a consistent and proactive approach to pastoral care across the Primary years.
The position will also include a classroom teaching component as required.
Key Responsibilities Actively contribute to the Primary leadership team, working closely with the Head of Primary and other Primary coordinators.
Lead the implementation, monitoring and ongoing development of pastoral care policies, processes and procedures.
Coordinate Primary School assemblies and pastoral care activities.
Provide guidance, training and support to teaching staff across pastoral care, student wellbeing and behaviour.
Work closely with teachers to monitor student relationships, development, wellbeing and behaviour.
Support students requiring additional pastoral guidance or intervention.
Build positive and respectful relationships with parents and families, including supporting meetings where appropriate.
Ensure pastoral matters and relevant parent interactions are appropriately documented.
Support a consistent approach to pastoral care as students progress through the school.
Establish and monitor peer support initiatives for students who are new to the school.
Contribute to staff induction and professional development relating to the school's pastoral care practices.
Undertake classroom teaching as required.
Support other reasonable responsibilities associated with the broader leadership of the Primary School.
About You To be successful in this position, you will be a qualified and experienced educator who genuinely values the importance of pastoral care within a successful school environment.
You will bring: Demonstrated experience in Primary education.
Experience in pastoral care, student wellbeing, behaviour management or school leadership.
Strong relationship-building skills with students, staff and families.
The ability to provide guidance and support to teaching colleagues.
A collaborative and approachable leadership style.
Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to creating an environment where students feel safe, supported and connected.
Current or eligible Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia registration.
Current or eligible Working with Children Check.
Full Australian Woring Rights.
