About this opportunity Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Electoral Representation, this role leads a small team that provides support for all aspects of public consultation for upcoming local and state representation review programs, from responding to public enquiries about the reviews, to processing submissions from the public and managing online public consultation events.
About the team The Electoral Representation Team leads the VEC's support and delivery of state and local government representation reviews, including support for internal and external review panels.
During the representation of review events, an expanded team is established to deliver review programs.
The Public Consultation Team will work closely with the program's Research and Geospatial teams to deliver the upcoming ******* ward boundary review program and provide high-quality advice and support to the ward boundary review panel.
Following the ward boundary reviews,
the team will support the ******* state redivision.
A day in the life of a Public Consultation Manager You will lead a small team responsible for supporting all public consultation activities for the program, ranging from responding to public enquiries about the reviews, to processing submissions from the public and managing online public information sessions and public hearings.
You will hold accountability for the delivery and quality of all public consultation activities and events, and support for the review panel and program leadership.
As a member of the program's leadership team, led by the Senior Manager Electoral Representation, you will work closely with other managers to align work between teams, solve challenges and adapt quickly as priorities shift.
The timelines for review programs are short, and work is often fast moving to meet non-negotiable deadlines.
In this hands-on leadership role, you will lead your team through the program of work, set standards, provide guidance and feedback, plan and deliver online public events, and ensure your team meets program needs and timelines.
About you
* Demonstrated experience in public facing roles and leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrated experience in project management, planning and forming structured work plans, managing competing priorities, providing transparent direction to team members, monitoring progress, adapting to changing demands, and proactively resolving issues.
* Ability in driving quality and continuous improvement, including implementing quality assurance,
and providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
* Able to build strong stakeholder relationships through effective collaboration, clear communication, and a professional approach to engagement.
* A commitment to foster an inclusive and respectful workplace, where diversity is valued and all team members feel safe, supported and empowered to contribute.
