Brisbane CBD | 12-month ContractWe are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join a major organisation and deliver a range of Cyber Security uplift initiatives and projects.This is a hands-on engineering role requiring experience across the full technical delivery lifecycle: discovery, design and buildYou will work across Microsoft security technologies, SIEM/logging, MFA, Essential Eight uplift and hybrid infrastructure environments, while working closely with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver approved security solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and build of Cyber Security uplift initiatives.Undertake technical discovery, identify security gaps and develop appropriate solutions.Design, configure and implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across legacy applications and systems.Redesign and optimise existing Microsoft Sentinel/SIEM environments.Expand logging and monitoring across systems and services, including onboarding data sources into Sentinel.Deliver Essential Eight uplift and remediation activities.Support Microsoft 365 and Azure security initiatives.Work across cloud,
on-premises and hybrid environments.Support technical decommissioning, Business Continuity, High Availability and Backup uplift initiatives.Prepare technical documentation, procedures and implementation plans.Coordinate technical resources and cross-functional teams to deliver project outcomes.Identify technical risks, dependencies and gaps and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.Work closely with infrastructure, application and security teams to deliver technical changes through to completion.Skills & ExperienceWe are looking for a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer with demonstrated experience taking security requirements from design through to buildExperience across one or more of the following is highly desirable:Microsoft Sentinel / SIEM / security loggingConditional AccessMicrosoft 365 and AzureMicrosoft Security technologiesActive Directory and Group PolicyWindows 11Cloud, on-premises and hybrid environmentsVirtualisation technologies
