Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract with strong extension potentialLocation: Port Kembla / Illawarra Region (predominantly site-based)Hourly Pay: Up to $100 per hour inclusive of super, dependent on experienceAbout the RoleWe are seeking experienced HSE professionals to support a major capital project within a complex industrial environment.This is a highly visible, site-focused role where you'll partner with project teams and contractors to drive positive safety outcomes across a large-scale brownfield construction environment.
We're looking for proactive safety professionals who are comfortable spending time in the field, engaging with people, identifying risks early, and influencing safer ways of working.Working alongside the Project HSE Manager and wider project leadership team, you'll play a key role in embedding best-practice health, safety and risk management throughout all phases of project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Project HSE Manager and project teams to embed best-practice HSE and risk management across a major capital projectMaintain a strong in office presence, engaging directly with project teams, contractors and frontline personnelIdentify hazards, unsafe behaviours and emerging risks before incidents occurConduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and contractor engagement activitiesLead and support site inductions, toolbox talks, investigations and corrective actionsCoach and influence contractors and project personnel to achieve positive safety outcomesAssist with incident investigations, injury management and return-to-work processesMaintain project HSE systems, standards, emergency management documentation and risk registersSupport project reporting,
governance and compliance requirementsContribute to the development of a strong, proactive safety culture across multiple project teamsAbout YouTo be successful, you'll bring:Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a dedicated HSE, Safety Advisor, Safety Partner or similar roleExperience working within construction, heavy industrial, manufacturing, mining or major capital project environmentsStrong understanding of risk management principles and construction/project safety requirementsProven ability to influence, coach and build credibility with contractors and operational teamsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsA practical, hands-on approach to safety leadershipRelevant qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, Risk Management or a related disciplineHighly Regarded ExperienceHeavy industrial or manufacturing environmentsMajor shutdown, maintenance or capital project experienceContractor management and high-risk work environmentsLarge-scale construction or infrastructure projectsStandard Monday to Friday working weekTypically ***** hours per week depending on project requirementsOccasional weekend work may be required during critical project phasesFlexibility around working hours is essential, with some periods requiring early starts, later finishes, or extended days to support project deliveryWhat's on Offer?
