We're looking for an experienced Revenue Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in ensuring accurate revenue recognition, financial reporting, billing operations and revenue optimisation across a diverse range of funding streams and service agreements.
Based at our Head Office in Ringwood on the lands of the Wurundjeri People, with adaptable working conditions available$110,000pa+ 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550
About the roleReporting to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for ensuring revenue is recognised accurately in line with Australian Accounting Standards, funding agreements and taxation requirements.
You'll also oversee billing and collections activities, support financial reporting and forecasting, and help drive process improvements across finance systems and workflows.
This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with operational teams, finance colleagues and key stakeholders across the organisation.
You'll make an impact by:
Managing the accurate recognition, reconciliation and reporting of grant and contract revenueMonitoring funding streams and investigating revenue discrepancies, variances and acquittal issuesPreparing revenue reports, forecasts, reconciliations and variance analysesSupporting month-end and year-end financial close processesLeading the billing and collections function, including team leadership and performance developmentOverseeing invoicing, collections, customer account management and overdue receivablesStrengthening financial controls, compliance processes and audit readinessDriving continuous improvement initiatives across revenue,



billing and finance processesBuilding strong relationships with operational stakeholders and providing financial insights to support decision-making.
What you bring
CPA or CA qualification and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce (Accounting), Business (Accounting) or a closely related discipline.Demonstrated experience in revenue accounting, financial reporting and reconciliationsExperience leading or mentoring finance, billing or collections teamsStrong understanding of Australian accounting standards, financial regulations and taxation requirementsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilityExperience working with ERP systems and financial reporting toolsExcellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial audiencesStrong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindsetExperience within the health or not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
