Cape Byron Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Broadwater, NSW.
This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the maintenance, design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and solutions for our renewable energy operations.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring the reliable performance of our electrical infrastructure, contributing directly to our mission of delivering sustainable power solutions to our community.What you'll be doingMaintain, design, and develop electrical systems, components, and solutions in line with industry standards and regulatory requirementsConduct electrical calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimise system performance and efficiencyPrepare detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for electrical projectsOversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systemsPerform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems to identify and resolve faultsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, technicians, and other engineering disciplinesEnsure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulationsProvide technical support and guidance to the site operations teams and techniciansParticipate in project planning and contribute to cost and timeline estimationsStay current with advancements in electrical engineering technology and industry best practicesWhat we're looking forBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institutionProfessional Engineering (PE) licence or equivalent qualification, or willingness to obtain oneMinimum of 5 years' experience in electrical engineering, preferably in renewable energy, power generation, or related sectorsStrong knowledge of electrical design software and CAD tools such as AutoCAD, MATLAB,
or similar applicationsProficiency in electrical codes and standards including AS/NZS **** and IEC standardsDemonstrated experience in power systems, circuit design, and electrical distributionExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in team environmentsKnowledge of renewable energy technologies and systems is highly desirableExperience with project management and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyWhat we offerAt Cape Byron Power, we are committed to fostering a workplace where our employees can thrive both professionally and personally.
