With a strong pipeline of opportunities and long-term investor backing, this is an exciting time to join a high-performing team.We are seeking an Associate to join our Energy & Utilities team, supporting both origination and asset management activities across Australia and New Zealand.The OpportunityThis role offers broad exposure across the full investment lifecycle.
You will support the origination and execution of new investments, alongside the active management of existing portfolio companies.Working across key energy transition themes including renewables, transmission and distribution, gas, and digital infrastructure—you will partner closely with senior investment professionals, gaining meaningful responsibility and exposure to complex transactions and portfolio initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead financial modelling, valuation, and scenario analysisSupport transaction execution, including due diligence and investment papersAssist with asset management activities such as board materials, reporting, and stakeholder engagementInterpret financial outputs and apply commercial judgement to inform investment decisionsBuild and maintain relationships with banks, advisors, and industry participantsContribute to sector research and pipeline developmentAbout YouYou will have strong technical foundations,
coupled with the ability to think commercially beyond the numbers.3–5 years' experience in infrastructure advisory (e.g. investment banking) or principal investingBackground in financial, commercial, or operational rolesTertiary qualification in Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Business, or FinanceSkills:Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilityUnderstanding of M&A; processes and investment due diligenceAbility to prepare explicit, structured investment recommendations and board materialsCommercial acumen and strong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and work both autonomously and collaborativelyAdvanced Excel skills; proficient in Word and PowerPointWhy Infrastructure at QIC?
