Team Global Express is looking for a Manufacturing Execution Systems Engineer to support the reliability and performance of our automated freight operations.Our sortation systems, conveyors, screening equipment and control systems are critical to keeping freight moving safely and on time.
In this role, you will take ownership of the automation and control systems supporting our freight operations, responding to faults, identifying root causes and improving system performance.This is a hands‐on technical role suited to an engineer or automation specialist who enjoys troubleshooting, problem solving and working closely with operational and maintenance teams.You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and technology partners to improve system reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement.Location: Based in Melbourne, VIC, with Sydney, NSW also being considered.The role will require occasional travel to other TGE sites as required.What You'll DoProvide hands‐on support for PLC, WCS, MES and sortation control systemsRespond to automation and control system faults during live operationsTroubleshoot electrical, PLC, network and control system issuesDevelop, test and modify PLC programs to support machinery upgrades and system improvementsPerform root cause analysis on complex automation and control system faultsSupport the maintenance and optimisation of automated sortation and conveyor systemsIdentify system bottlenecks and opportunities to improve throughput and reliabilitySupport electrical design, panel modifications, testing and commissioning of current equipmentAssist with the integration and commissioning of new equipment and system upgradesSupport the reliability,



lifecycle management and performance improvement of automation and control systemsDevelop and maintain preventative maintenance and troubleshooting processesWork with third-party technology providers and contractors when requiredProvide technical guidance, training and coaching to maintenance teamsSupport engineering projects, capital works and system upgradesPromote safe work practices and ensure compliance with relevant standardsWhat You'll BringEngineering qualification in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics or a related discipline2–3+ years' experience in industrial automation, controls, engineering or maintenanceHands‐on experience troubleshooting PLC‐controlled equipmentExperience with Siemens / SIMATIC PLCs would be highly regardedKnowledge of industrial networks including Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP and ASI BusExperience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, WCS or MES systemsExperience developing, testing or modifying PLC codeUnderstanding of electrical systems, control panels and industrial equipmentExperience working with automated machinery, conveyors or sortation systemsStrong fault‐finding and root cause analysis skillsStrong problem‐solving and analytical capabilityAbility to work hands‐on with maintenance and operational teamsGood communication skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholdersA practical, solutions‐focused approach and willingness to learn the TGE operating environmentWhy Join Team Global Express?
