Due to continued growth, they are expanding their Drafting and Estimating team and are looking for an experienced Estimator to join the business.About the RoleWorking closely with customers, drafting and production teams, you will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings and designs and developing practical, cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
The role will involve estimating and quoting bespoke manufactured components, reviewing drawings and specifications, and ensuring customer requirements can be effectively translated into production.
You will also play an important role in maintaining strong customer relationships and providing responsive technical support throughout the quoting process.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret technical drawings, designs and customer specificationsPrepare accurate estimates and quotations for manufactured componentsReview jobs for manufacturability and determine appropriate production processesWork closely with production and engineering teamsRespond to urgent and time-critical customer requirementsIdentify and propose solutions to customer engineering challengesMaintain accurate documentation and quotation informationBuild and maintain robust customer relationshipsManage multiple quotations and priorities effectivelySkills & ExperiencePrevious experience within sheet metal, laser cutting, fabrication or a similar manufacturing environmentStrong ability to interpret technical and engineering drawingsExperience with AutoCAD and Inventor in the development of sheet metal solutionsStrong understanding of manufacturing processesExcellent attention to detailStrong computer literacy and confidence working across multiple systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and urgent customer requirementsHighly RegardedExperience within sheet metal cutting, folding and rollingKnowledge of Australian sheet metal and raw materialsAutoCAD 2D experienceInventor 3D experienceAbility to develop flat patternsExperience creating technical drawings for manufactureUnderstanding of laser cutting and bending processes
