We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial control and reporting for a growing non-bank lender based in Sydney.
You'll report directly to the CFO and manage one direct report, taking ownership of the financial control framework, month-end processes, and working with an offshore finance team.
This is a hands‐on role with real influence over how the finance function operates as the business scales.What you'll be doingYou'll manage and oversee all financial control activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the business.You'll lead the month-end close process and drive initiatives to streamline reporting and reconciliations.You'll own the general ledger and ensure established processes are followed for all updates.You'll prepare monthly financial results and key financial reports for stakeholder review.You'll define and implement internal controls across the business, ensuring compliance with corporate and country standards.You'll act as the key contact for internal and external audits, preparing schedules and addressing queries.You'll collaborate closely with FP&A; on financial forecasting, analysis,



and budget preparation.You'll advise on complex technical accounting matters to support the business's growth.You'll mentor your direct report and work effectively with the offshore finance team.What we're looking forYou'll have at least 10 years' post-qualified experience in financial control or a similar senior accounting role, with a professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA).
Deep experience in financial reporting, financial controls, and complex organisations is essential.
Strong lending and securitisation experience is ideal for this role.
You'll have proven experience managing and mentoring finance professionals, and a demonstrated ability to lead teams through transformation and change.
