The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager with a strong background in precast concrete to lead our production and operational activities.
Reporting to the VIC Southern Region General Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
You will oversee a team including a Production Supervisor, installation crew, and 7–10 operators, while also managing projects from order through to installation.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all operations
Implement and monitor health & safety plans, including site inspections
Ensure safe site access and compliance with all safety requirements
Lead incident investigations, hazard reporting, and root cause analysis (RCA)
Operations & Production
Drive production in line with schedules, targets, and resource planning
Monitor performance and implement corrective actions as required
Coordinate with quality control and maintenance teams to optimise output
Conduct operational quality checks and inspect trucks for dispatch




Ensure compliance with QA procedures and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)
Leadership & People Management
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, operators, and installation teams
Manage workforce attendance and implement shift rosters
Conduct team briefings and maintain strong employee engagement
Ensure training and development align with company standards
Project & Customer Management
Manage projects from order receipt through to completed installation
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and onsite supervisors
Coordinate closely with the Installation Team Leader and internal stakeholders
Maintain robust relationships to support customer satisfaction
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with internal and external key stakeholders
Manage subcontractors for maintenance works
About You
Proven experience in operations or production management within the precast concrete industry is essential; candidates must have direct precast concrete experience
Strong understanding of drainage systems, water infrastructure, or precast concrete products
A minimum of 5–8 years' experience in manufacturing is required.
Strong leadership experience in a supervisory or management role
Ability to manage both production operations and project delivery
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
An engineering background or trade qualification is highly desirable
Experience in stormwater treatment (preferred but not essential)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
