Mechanical Design Engineer 4x4 AccessoriesYou will be responsible for reverse engineering existing products, developing recent designs and working closely with manufacturing partners to bring products to market.
You will work across products such as bullbars, canopies, roof racks, trays, tub accessories and other 4x4 vehicle accessories.Key responsibilitiesReverse engineer existing 4x4 accessories and vehicle componentsCreate accurate 3D CAD models from physical products, measurements, photographs and reference dataDevelop new product concepts and convert them into production-ready designsDesign components, brackets, frames and assemblies for 4x4 applicationsProduce detailed engineering and manufacturing drawingsModify and improve existing products based on testing, feedback and manufacturing requirementsEnsure designs are practical,



structurally sound and suitable for mass productionWork with manufacturers and engineers in China to develop prototypes and production samplesReview samples and identify design issues before productionConduct fitment checks on vehicles and accessoriesAbout youQualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Design or a related fieldStrong experience using SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360 or similar 3D CAD softwareExperience creating detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawingsExperience with reverse engineering and product replicationStrong understanding of mechanical design principlesUnderstanding of sheet metal design, welding, fabrication and manufacturing processesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsStrong understanding of dimensions, tolerances and material specificationsAbility to work from physical products and measurements to recreate accurate CAD modelsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbout usZeus 4x4 Accessories is a growing Australian 4x4 accessories brand specialising in the design, development and manufacture of premium off-road products.
