The Former Origin Greats ARTIE Academy is seeking a motivated and highly organised, independent 'self-starter' for the position of "Education Mentor" as part of a school based program working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
The Education Mentor role is responsible for organising, coordinating and delivering activities and challenges to students within the ARTIE Academy.
The program inspires students to make a positive change towards aspects of their schooling including attendance, behaviour, academic achievement and effort through innovative term challenges.
You have a shared responsibility for the coordination and delivery of the ARTIE Academy and key programs relevant at your assigned schools.
PLEASE NOTE: This role is for the ROCKHAMPTON REGION ONLY.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Mentoring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students supporting positive outcomes for attendance, academic achievement and engagement in school
Building relationships within the school and wider communities.
Key Attributes required for the position
Evidence of Year 12 completion required.
Working in schools/education experience preferred
Highly organised, proactive, enthusiastic individual who can multitask and meet deadlines
Evidence of excellent attendance in previous roles (e.g.
reference checks, attendance records, or performance reviews).
Ability to work across multiple schools at one time, establishing relationships with school staff, students and community members
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and communities
A robust record of reliability and punctuality.
The ability to manage your time effectively and contribute consistently to team outcomes.
Ability to mentor students promoting positive attendance and behaviours in school
Blue Card is essential
Remuneration
A package will be negotiated with the successful candidate based on qualifications and experience.
This company offers attractive annual leave, up to ten (10) weeks per year.
