About the roleBroderick W Co. is looking for an experienced and organised Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer to join our team on a part-time basis.
We are a busy and growing business operating within the heavy automotive electrical industry and are looking for someone who can confidently take ownership of our day-to-day bookkeeping and accounts function.
The role is approximately ***** hours per week across 2 days, with some flexibility around how the hours are structured and the potential for additional hours as the business grows.
You will work closely with management and our external accountant while independently managing the day-to-day accounts function.
Key responsibilities
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
Processing and reviewing supplier invoices and purchase orders
Managing supplier accounts and payment schedules
Preparing supplier payment runs for management review and approval
Customer invoicing and statements
Following up outstanding accounts
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Payroll processing and superannuation
Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero
Working with Simpro to review purchase orders, supplier invoices, job costs and customer invoicing
Ensuring information is accurately processed between Simpro and Xero
Reviewing job-related costs and identifying discrepancies
Preparing accurate records and information for BAS and our external accountant
Keeping the accounts function organised, accurate and up to date
About youWe are looking for someone who is experienced, reliable and comfortable working independently.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or similar role
Strong working knowledge of Xero
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations
Good understanding of Australian payroll, superannuation and GST requirements
Experience working with purchase orders and job-related costing
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Confidence communicating with customers and suppliers regarding accounts
The ability to identify what needs to be done and manage your workload with minimal supervision
A practical and proactive approach to problem solving
Experience with Simpro or similar job management software would be highly regarded; however, training can be provided.
Experience within the automotive, mining, trades or service industries would also be advantageous but is not essential.
Part time | Approximately ***** hours per week$35–$45 per hour + super, depending on experience
