Light Vehicle Mechanic – Mobile & Workshop
We are seeking a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in a varied mobile and workshop-based role.
The position will initially be predominantly mobile, completing servicing, diagnostics and repairs at customer locations across Adelaide.
Some work will also be conducted at mine sites, all located within approximately one hour of Adelaide.
From late ****, workshop-based positions will also become available (Fleurieu Peninsula).
This role requires an experienced & confident4 mechanic who can work fully autonomously, diagnose faults accurately and make sound decisions without supervision.
You must be able to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
Attend breakdowns when required
Complete scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
Repair light vehicles, 4WDs and light commercial vehicles
Perform mobile repairs at customer locations and work sites
Inspect vehicles and identify required repairs
Occasionally perform work at local mine sites
Manage your daily workload independently
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Keep the work vehicle, tools and equipment organised
Communicate professionally with customers and site personnel
Follow workplace and mine-site safety procedures
Essential Requirements
Recognised Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic trade qualification
Own Tools
Current Australian driver's licence
Confident driving a manual vehicle
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across modern petrol & diesel engines
Ability to work fully autonomously
Ability to learn quickly and perform under pressure
Experience servicing and repairing light vehicles & 4WD's
A/C Ticket Highly Regarded
Good communication and customer-service skills
Reliable, professional and safety-focused attitude
Valid Australian working rights
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and required drug and alcohol screening
Previous mobile mechanic and mine-site experience will be highly regarded, as some work will be conducted at mine sites.
Hours and Benefits
$40 per hour casual plus super
8–10-hour working days
Minimum 30 hours per week
Typically ***** hours per week, with additional hours available
