We're exclusively partnering with a small energy retailer on the delivery of a billing platform migration.
This role is focused on running that migration end-to-end, from planning and vendor coordination through to data migration, testing and cutover.
You'll be the project manager accountable for delivery, working alongside internal operations, technology and the implementation partner.
Billing sits at the centre of how a retailer runs, so this is high-visibility work across the whole business.
Alongside the technical delivery you'll be across customer data, market processes and regulatory obligations.
This is a role for someone mid-level who has worked in a utility billing environment and understands what makes these projects difficult.
Having been close to a migration of this kind matters more here than having run one on your own.
Key responsibilities
Own delivery of the billing platform migration from planning through to cutover and stabilisationManage the implementation partner and vendors, holding them to scope, timeframes and qualityCoordinate data migration, cleansing and reconciliation activity with internal teamsPlan and drive testing, including UAT, with business and operational stakeholdersTrack risks, issues, dependencies and decisions, with clear and practical reportingWork with operations,



customer service and finance to prepare the business for the changeManage cutover planning, go-live readiness and post-implementation support arrangementsEnsure regulatory and market obligations are accounted for throughout delivery
About you
Takes ownership and drives delivery without needing to be chasedComfortable in a small business where you'll be doing the detail yourselfStrong communicator, able to translate between technical teams, vendors and operational staffPractical and pragmatic, with structure proportionate to the workCalm under pressure and willing to hold vendors to accountEscalates early rather than letting problems buildEnergy or utilities experience, with exposure to billing (non-negotiable)Proven delivery of system implementations or migrations end-to-endExperience managing external implementation partners through deliverySolid understanding of data migration, testing and cutover activityExperience working closely with operational and customer-facing stakeholders
