Southern Highlands Private Hospital is an acute medical and surgical hospital, owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care.
A 73 bed private hospital co-located with Bowral and District Hospital, Southern Highlands Private Hospital provides an extensive range of onsite medical, surgical, rehabilitation, oncology and palliative care services for the community of the Southern Highlands and beyond to the regional and rural areas.
Job Description
The Building Services Technician is responsible for undertaking and overseeing all assigned maintenance tasks within the hospital.
This role ensures the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service that complies with legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines, and approved hospital budgets.
You will play a key part in maintaining our facilities, ensuring they meet the relevant Australian Standards associated with private hospital operations.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake assigned maintenance tasks as required, including painting, wall patching, flooring, doors and locks and gardening.Operate machinery and power/hand tools.Ensure the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service, adhering to legislative standards, corporate policy guidelines, and approved hospital budgets.Direct and manage the work of maintenance contractors and employees, ensuring their competency and technical knowledge align with required tasks.Ensure all assigned tasks are completed and meet defined service levels.Maintain all forms of maintenance records for the Hospital,



keeping them fully up to date.Achieve Key Performance Indicators within the functions of the department.Demonstrate a strong understanding of the relevant Australian Standards associated with the maintenance of a private hospital facility.Participate in an after-hours on-call service rotation.
About You
We are seeking a proactive and skilled professional who is passionate about maintaining high-quality facilities, with the following essential experience and attributes:
Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, ideally within a hospital environment.A willingness to work across various trades areas within your skill levels.Proven experience in managing external contractors effectively.An interest in assisting people and the ability to work co-operatively with others.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Sound verbal and written communication, and strong computer literacy skills.Demonstrated excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise tasks effectively.Experience in, and ongoing commitment to, Quality Improvement principles.Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety (WH&S;) requirements.
Desirable Skills
Current unrestricted Drivers' Licence.Relevant Trades qualification.
