We are partnering with a well-established and growing distribution business seeking a driven and technically solid Accountant to join the team on an initial short-term contract.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will gain broad exposure across financial reporting, month-end processes, management reporting, compliance and business partnering within a collaborative and high-performing finance function.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, is naturally curious and analytical, and is looking to build a long-term career in commercial finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-end and year-end close processes
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and journals
- Financial and management reporting
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Variance analysis and insightful commentary
- Supporting external audit requirements
- Driving process improvements and systems enhancements
- Partnering with operational stakeholders across the business
- Ad-hoc analysis and reporting for senior leadership
About You
- CA or CPA qualified (essential)
- 2-5 year's experience, ideally from Big 4 or mid-tier, not essential
- Strong technical accounting foundation
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems aptitude
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Immediately available or on short notice (highly regarded)
