About the roleWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join the team at Bayside Independence in Busselton, WA.
This is a full-time, part-time or sub contract position where you will play a vital role in transforming the lives of our clients by helping them achieve independence, confidence and quality of life through therapeutic intervention and support.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be at the forefront of our mission to enable individuals to participate meaningfully in their daily activities, work, leisure and social engagement.
This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the community whilst working within a supportive and collaborative team at a locally owned and operated private Occupational Therapy practice.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify clients' functional abilities, limitations and rehabilitation potential
Develop and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions across a range of settings including clinics and clients' homes
Provide therapeutic activities and programmes designed to improve functional independence, mobility, self-care abilities and psychosocial wellbeing
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physiotherapists, social workers, GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care
Document client progress accurately and maintain comprehensive clinical records in line with regulatory and organisational requirements
Educate clients and their families on adaptive strategies, assistive devices and environmental modifications to promote independence and safety




Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to continuous quality improvement within the service
Liaise with external agencies, disability support providers and community services to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care
What we're looking for
Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in occupational therapy, preferably within rehabilitation, disability support or community health settings
Strong knowledge of occupational therapy assessment tools, intervention strategies and evidence-based practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
Sound clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills with a person-centred approach to care
Proficiency in documentation and electronic health record systems
Valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
Current driver's licence
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in aged care, NDIS or paediatric OT would be advantageous
