About the roleEnhance Living Option is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team on a casual basis in Port Pirie, South Australia.
This role is fundamental to our mission of providing high-quality support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling and independent lives.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital part in our community services, directly impacting the wellbeing and quality of life of the people we support.
This casual position offers flexibility whilst allowing you to make a meaningful difference in your community.
Key responsibilities
Providing personal care assistance including showering, dressing, toileting and grooming support as required
Assisting clients with activities of daily living and domestic tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning and laundry
Supporting clients with community access and participation in social, recreational and educational activities
Promoting client independence and encouraging participation in decision-making about their own care and support
Maintaining accurate and timely records of support provided and any observations about client wellbeing
Communicating effectively with clients, their families, carers and other support team members
Adhering to duty of care obligations and reporting any concerns or safeguarding issues appropriately
Following all relevant policies, procedures and legislative requirements related to disability support
Maintaining confidentiality and treating clients with dignity and respect at all times
What we're looking for
A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities and a commitment to person-centred care
Previous experience working in disability support, aged care, community services or a related field (desirable but not essential)
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues




Physical fitness and capability to undertake manual tasks such as assisting clients with mobility
A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport (desirable)
Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing client needs and preferences
A current Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one
Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
A non-judgmental attitude and respect for the diversity and individuality of clients
Reliability, punctuality and a qualified approach to work
