The Opportunity
We are partnering with a well-established government department in Sydney seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join on an initial 6-month contract. This role offers strong potential for extension and the prospect to transition into a permanent position.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, driving financial insight, performance, and decision-making across the business. You will lead a small team and play a key role in shaping financial strategy within a complex and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior stakeholders to provide commercial and strategic financial advice
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Deliver insightful analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Support key business initiatives, identifying risks and opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and systems
- Translate complex financial data into clear,
actionable insights
About You
- Proven experience in a Finance Business Partnering role
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop teams
- Naturally curious mindset with a proactive and problem-solving approach
- Experience within government or similarly complex organisations highly regarded
