Overview
We are working wiht a very exciting Finacnial Servicels client, where an opportunity has opened for an experienced SQL Developer to join a fast-paced technology team, supporting and enhancing a suite of existing applications. This role combines hands-on development with production support, requiring someone who can confidently work across both project delivery and BAU environments.
You'll play a key role in maintaining data integrity, improving system performance, and delivering reliable solutions that support business-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain SQL-based solutions within existing systems
- Write efficient, scalable T-SQL code including stored procedures, functions, and complex queries
- Perform detailed testing, validation, and data reconciliation to ensure accuracy and quality
- Investigate and resolve production issues, supporting ongoing BAU activities
- Collaborate with delivery leads, business analysts, developers, and QA teams to deliver outcomes
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and actively support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all development aligns with established standards, processes, and best practices
- Take ownership of tasks from design through to delivery, ensuring deadlines are met
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a SQL Developer in enterprise environments (typically 5+ years)
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including advanced T-SQL development
- Hands-on experience with database objects such as stored procedures, views, and functions
- Exposure to the Microsoft BI stack, particularly SSIS and SSRS
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and contemporary source control practices
- Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Scripting experience using PowerShell and/or development exposure to C# is highly regarded
