Greencross Vets GP + Urgent Care Noosa is looking for an Urgent Care Veterinary Nurse to join our team.Our Urgent Care service provides same-day veterinary care for pets who can't necessarily wait until their regular GP is open, while helping to bridge the gap between General Practice and emergency hospitals.
We see a diverse range of cases including vomiting and diarrhoea, wounds and lacerations, skin and ear conditions, eye concerns, lameness, general unwellness and other urgent presentations.We are a purpose-built hospital with access to in-house diagnostics including bloods, blood gas, coags, radiography, ultrasound, urinalysis and endoscopy, so there is plenty of chance to build your clinical skills and see something different every shift.What you'll be doingAs an Urgent Care Nurse, you'll play an important role in keeping our patients safe,



supporting our veterinarians and making sure our clients feel looked after.Triaging and assessing urgent presentationsAssisting with stabilisation and treatment of urgent patientsMonitoring patients and vital signsAdministering medications and treatments under veterinary directionAssisting veterinarians with procedures and diagnosticsPerforming nursing procedures and minor procedures within your scope of practiceCollecting and processing diagnostic samplesSupporting patients through their hospital stay and ensuring their comfort and welfareCommunicating confidently and compassionately with clientsManaging client enquiries in person and over the phoneThinking ahead and showing initiative rather than waiting to be askedHelping maintain a clean, organised and efficient hospitalEnjoy a work-life balance with our roster!

Urgent Care shifts:Monday–Friday: 1:00 pm–11:00 pm or 5:00 pm–11:00 pmSaturday & Sunday: 8:00 am–6:00 pmThere is also the opportunity to work across our General Practice team, giving you variety in your week and exposure to a broad range of patients and cases.About youWe're looking for someone who:Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Veterinary Technologist degreeHas at least 2 years' clinical veterinary nursing experienceHas strong veterinary nursing knowledge and practical skillsHas experience in emergency,



critical care or urgent care nursingIs confident with triage and assessing patientsCan remain calm and organised when things get busyHas excellent communication and client service skillsShows initiative and naturally looks for ways to support the teamIs genuinely passionate about patient care and the veterinary nursing professionMost importantly, we're looking for someone who is kind, capable and a great team player.Why Greencross?
