Banks Benchtops Archerfield is seeking a skilled and experienced Stonemason to join our team on a full-time basis at our Archerfield, QLD location.
As a Stonemason, you will play a crucial role in the creation and installation of high-quality stone benchtops and architectural elements for both residential and commercial projects.
This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence and craftsmanship in the building trades industry.
You will work directly with stone materials, utilising techniques and industry expertise to deliver exceptional finished products that meet our clients' standards.Key responsibilitiesMeasuring, marking and cutting stone materials using hand and power tools to specificationsShaping and finishing stone surfaces through grinding, polishing and honing techniquesInterpreting CAD drawings to understand project requirements and deliver work to specificationPreparing work areas and ensuring all tools and materials are ready for each project phaseQuality-checking completed work to ensure it meets company standards and client expectationsMaintaining a safe and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulationsWhat we;re looking forProven experience as a Stonemason or similar stone-working role within the stone industryProficiency with stone-working hand tools, including grinders and polishersKnowledge of different stone types, their properties, and appropriate working techniques for granite,
marble and engineered stoneAbility to read and interpret drawings and specifications accuratelyExcellent attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality finishesSound understanding of health and safety requirements on construction and installation sitesPhysical fitness and capability to lift heavy materialsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt techniques to suit varying project requirementsReliability, punctuality with a professional approachCurrent manual drivers licence is advantageousRelevant certifications or qualifications in stone masonry are preferred but not essentialWhat we offerAt Banks Benchtops Archerfield, we value our skilled tradespeople and are committed to providing a supportive and professional working environment.
