The position involves operating small plant and equipment, carrying out maintenance tasks across town streets and public areas, and ensuring works are completed safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will assist with a variety of duties, including:Grass cutting and maintenance of town streets, parks, gardens and open spacesStreet maintenance activities such as pothole patching, footpath repairs and kerb and channel repairsLine marking,



sign maintenance and guidepost repairsLitter and garbage collectionSlashing and vegetation managementGraffiti removal and general labouring dutiesOperating plant and machinery within licence and competency levelsConducting pre-start checks and reporting defects on plant and equipmentIdentifying hazards and contributing to a safe workplace environmentAssisting with Council works programs as directed by the Urban Works SupervisorAbout YouTo be successful in this role you will have:Experience in a similar labouring or plant operator roleExperience operating small plant and equipment such as mowers, whipper snippers or similar machinery.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Strong awareness of Workplace Health and Safety practicesGood communication skills and a positive work attitudeAbility to complete tasks within expected timeframes and maintain a high standard of workMandatory RequirementsCurrent MR Driver LicenceConstruction White Card (required prior to commencement)Current Police ClearanceTraffic Control or Traffic Management accreditationHR Driver LicenceExperience operating a range of plant and machinery.For a more detailed job outline, please refer to the attached PD.Cloncurry Shire Council reserves the right to commence recruitment prior to the closing date should a suitable candidate apply.
