Lachlan Shire Council is seeking a motivated and professionalGovernance & Risk Officer to join ourFinance & Governance team.Thisfull-time position is responsible for supporting Council's governance, risk management, audit, compliance and information access functions.
The position also develops, implements and monitors governance and risk frameworks to ensure legislative compliance, organisational accountability and continuous improvement across Council operations.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need:Demonstrated experience in a comparable role for at least 2 years, that will enable the cross transfer of skills to Local GovernmentRelevant experience with Audit Risk and Improvement Committees and the Internal Audit functionThe ability to work independently to implement governance and risk strategiesDemonstrated ability to develop Governance and Risk Frameworks and experience in developing risk management strategies at the operational levelSubstantial knowledge and ability to interpret and apply legislation including knowledge of the NSW Local Government Act and associated regulationsThe ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality in a politically sensitive environmentHighly developed organisational and time management skills to meet legislative and organisational timeframesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including report, policy and procedure writingA current Class C Driver LicenceA high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsThe ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.Council is committed to delivering high-quality services to our community.
