Exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a state government department
Your new company
Our client based in East Perth is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant for a temporary period. This is a great opportunity to work within a government department.
Your new role
The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinating and building the preparation of the pillar annual budget
- Liaise with key stakeholders to effectively organise the budgeting timetable
- Provide advice on budgeting and performance to the manager financial management and chief financial officer
- Contribute to a range of strategic finance projects
- Develop the operating budgets and resource allocation models with stakeholders
- Provide advice and assistance to management
- Support and assist the management accounts
- Support the budget team for the provision of forward estimates and other information
- Undertake financial modelling and analysis to assist decision-making
- Any other duties as required
What you'll need to succeed
Experience in the similar position required but also:
- Demonstrate experience in financial and management accounting and reporting, and managing budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Possession of a tertiary qualification in accounting or related discipline and Membership of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand or CPA Australia or the National Institute of Public Accountants desirable not essential
- Ability to build strong and effective relationships
- Ability to work in a changing environment
