Forte/PTS is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our team at Hope Island, QLD. This casual role will maintain accurate financial records and support our small team with accounting and administrative functions. The successful candidate will be crucial in ensuring financial operations run smoothly.
What you'll be doing
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain financial records
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other regulatory reports
- Assist with payroll processing and compliance
- Provide general administrative support to the finance and accounting team
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and procedures
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably in the education or small business sector
- Proficient in using accounting software such as MYOB or Xero
- Solid attention to detail and excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Australian tax and accounting regulations
