Eden Ritchie is seeking an experienced and innovative Finance Manager to join a large and complex Sunshine Coast organisation. You will work with the Associate Director Financial Management and Commercial and CFO to transform financial budgeting and forecasting frameworks, and then lead a program of continuous improvement that adapts to emerging issues, new technology and ways of working. You will possess considerable initiative, a strategic and operational mindset, and the ability to work autonomously with guidance.

You will ideally reside on the Sunshine Coast, be able to work onsite at Sippy Downs 4 days per week, and have used TechnologyOne, PowerBI and Excel. You will bring well-developed commercial acumen and a strong business partnering focus working across the organisation to drive budget review, identify cost savings, trends, and undertake extensive financial analysis. Current or previous employment in a similar role and level within the higher education sector would be highly regarded. Current membership with the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants or equivalent is highly desirable.

Key Accountabilities

- Provide strategic and operational advice on budgeting and financial processes.
- Manage and coordinate staff to achieve goals and deliver exceptional service.
- Develop and improve systems and processes to meet strategic goals.
- Lead and manage the preparation, analysis, and reporting of budgets and forecasts. This also includes ensuring accuracy and integrity of the budget and other reports in compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Prepare/coordinate business plans for initiatives.




- Assist in financial control and reporting of grants and consultancy funds.
- Undertaking other duties within the range of skills normally associated with a position of this classification in an evolving environment, as required

Essential Requirements

- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a relevant Business or Commercial postgraduate qualification, combined with extensive expertise in all aspects of computerised financial and accounting administration, as well as staff management.
- Superior expertise in accounting standards, statements of accounting concepts, financial control, taxation and reporting.
- Expertise in the preparation and analysis of high-level financial reports, particularly in a higher education environment and inclusive of grant funding acquittal.
- Experience in interpreting and resolving issues in relation to financial matters within a medium to large enterprise.
- Project management skills and experience, including:
- people and workflow management
- the implementation of evaluation and improvement processes
- the ability to prioritise conflicting demands and manage to meet deadlines

- High level computing application knowledge and skills, including financial packages and Excel
- The ability to initiate, develop and implement current policies and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both in the preparation of written documentation and the effective liaison with senior and executive staff and other stakeholders.
