Established in 1926, The Motor Trade Association SA/NT is recognised as the automotive skills and training provider of choice in the industry. We train over 1000 apprentices yearly in Light, Heavy, Electrical, Paint, Panel and Parts trades. We have an excellent reputation as both a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and a Group Training Organisation (GTO). We partner with schools and offer automotive school pathways to students and have a loyal membership base. The MTA is the only employer-based organisation dedicated to protecting and growing the automotive retail, service and repair industry in SA and NT. About The Position

Join our high-performing team as a Part-time (3 days/week - 0.6FTE) Finance Officer where you'll provide:

Primary Support for Finance Functions: Provide essential support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and GTO payroll during periods of absence, ensuring seamless financial operations across the business.
Accounts Receivable Support: Ensure charges are raised and receipts are processed.
Accounts Payable Support: Ensure invoices are processed and paid on time
Payroll Backup: Provide support and backup to the Payroll Officers for Group Training Scheme apprentice payroll by ensuring accurate information of all employees is maintained according to legislative and business requirements.

What We Expect:

We are seeking a motivated individual with a strong foundation in finance and accounting, ideally holding an Associate Diploma in Accounting or Finance. You should have relevant field experience, particularly in accounts payable and/or receivable.

Key skills include:

- Strong interpersonal skills: Effective communication, negotiation,



and problem-solving abilities are vital to succeed in this role.
- Attention to detail: You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in financial processes, so a keen eye for detail is essential.
- IT proficiency: Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) are required, with advanced capabilities in accounting and database software being highly preferred

Candidates with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles up to the trial balance stage and experience in data analysis will thrive in this role
