The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Management Accountant to join our newly created Workers Compensation business unit in in NSW and partner with the CFO to prepare month end management reporting and deliver divisional financial variance analysis, advice and decision making insights.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a high calibre finance professional to grow their career and would be suited to recently qualified accountants seeking a role change or looking to move from practice to industry.

In this role, you will

Deliver month end management results, variance analysis and commentary;

Deliver timely and accurate monthly management reports for operational management team;

Co-ordinate divisional financial planning activities including developing budget, quarterly forecasts and reporting against contractual requirements;

Provide contractual revenue and resourcing analysis to influence key operational levers such as labour productivity, client profitability, service quality and contractual outcomes to support delivery of sustainable operational performance;

Prepare journal entries, sales invoicing, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations;

Manage key stakeholder relationships;

Reporting financial metrics on key business drivers;





Report and evaluate financial operational performance with regard to long term strategic goals, budgets and forecasts;

Provide financial support to General Manager and leadership team on contracts, business cases and investment decisions;

Actively support GB’s Australian CFO in Financial management decisions in consultation with COO and divisional General Manager & Senior Leadership Team;

Actively participate in business planning sessions to execute the region’s dominant priorities;

Prepare contract pricing proposals on new business and existing client renewals;

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative and technically astute financial professional who has:

Demonstrated success in the preparation of monthly management results, variance analysis and commentary;

Financial working knowledge of management accounting and reporting of monthly results;

Ability to establish working relationships with senior managers, engage stakeholders and have the ability to communicate financial data;

Experience in the development, reporting and monitoring of actual financial performance against budget and forecast position;

Understanding of end of month financial processes and complex contractual revenue recognition calculations;

A results focus with continuous improvement mindset;

Ability to report performance in a broader perspective to inform business value decisions;

A strong sense of team and collaboration;

A resilent attitude;

CA/CPA/ACA/CIMA qualified preferred (or working towards);
