The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of Victorians into the future. POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager Performance and Operations PSRACS Operations and Performance Team, this role will have a key focus on identifying and developing solutions to support PSRACS to manage risks within their facilities, and to assist the department to manage the PSRACS system. Providing strong leadership, this role will engage directly with internal stakeholders and the PSRACS to ensure the department, health services and their boards have analytical tools that provide targeted insights into the PSRACS operations that will support the changes to governance and accountability requirements brought by changes to the Aged Care Act.
This role will coordinate efforts across the department and PSRACS to ensure an accurate and robust understanding of sector requirements, strengths and gaps are known. This will enable the development of resources to support compliance activities to ensure the DH and health services boards have access to timely,
accurate information to enable them to meet accountability obligations.
The role requires a person who is a proactive self-starter with a solid understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast-paced workplace. The role also requires high levels of adaptability, analytical ability and a commitment to contribute to a professional and supportive work workplace. The role has a project management focus and requires a strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to drive system development and implementation with experience providing high level strategic advice on complex issues.

Accountabilities
- Manage and oversee the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
(a) Researching, preparing and executing project business cases and plans within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
(b) Preparing and presenting quality reports and work briefings in accordance with the department's project management processes.
(c) Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
- Where responsible for overseeing, monitoring or delivering projects, ensure they are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
- Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs,
cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
- Identify emerging issues, risk and trends impacting on the successful achievement of key business objectives and imperatives and provide high quality business intelligence and sound recommendations based on comprehensive research and investigations.
- Formulate compliance and evaluation strategies to address specific issues related to the effective provision and implementation of required outcomes.
- Pro-actively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
