About the Opportunity
There is an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their Coffs Harbour office and work closely with the 2 x Partners and other 11 x team members. This role offers a variety of accounting, compliance and advisory services to a diverse mix of companies from SMEs to large corporations.
You will have direct access to clients and exposure to complex accounting, tax and advisory matters.
The firm is expanding at a rapid rate and the expectation is for this role to progress to Assistant Manager and beyond in no time.
Day to day:
- Accounts preparation, annual returns, BAS preparation, trusts/companies
- Monitoring client management reports for underlying business improvement issues
- Taxation services including researching and concluding tax issues, verifying financial results and analyse income and expenditure, prepare & check tax returns and gather and manage FBT system (information gathering,
completion and calculation procedures).
- Preparing and review individual, company, trust, partnership tax returns and financial statements.
- Maintaining and producing financial reports using Xero, MYOB and Reckon
About you
The ideal person for this role is someone who is 3+ years into their accounting career in a public practice environment and ready to shake things up and relocate to Coffs Harbour or move firms for a better opportunity.
- Hold or working towards a CA/CPA qualification
- A track record and passion for mentoring juniors
- Experience with Xero, MYOB and Reckon
- Technical skills in relation to accounting, compliance and advisory (including due diligence)
- Strong communication skills
- Outstanding at building rapport and trust with team members and clients
