About the Role
The Senior Reporting Analyst sits within Road Safety Victoria and is responsible for providing expert advice on program and project management to support the effective delivery of Victoria's major Road Safety Infrastructure Investment Programs. Specifically, the Senior Reporting Analyst will lead project and program accounting to support the management of a large capital works program.
About you
As a key leader within the branch, you will work closely with project and program managers and other key stakeholders to strengthen program management with financials, risks and monitoring projects issues and ultimately drive better road safety outcomes. The Senior Reporting Analyst will support the development of critical program reports for the Department of Transport's Leadership team as well as key investment partners including the Department of Treasury and Finance, Federal Government, and the Transport Accident Commission.
Responsibilities include
* Program development and delivery – Communicating technical and financial information effectively so it meets the needs of the identified audience
* Effective Financial Governance – Delivery high quality reports and insights on time to internal and external users of data to support effective financial governance of projects and programs.
* Specialist and high-quality advice – Provide timely, high quality, authoritative strategic, tactical and operational advice to project and program managers, senior leaders and stakeholders to support key program decisions relating to financial matters including project cost variations, release of contingency funds and issues and risks,
including highly complex reports, submissions, briefing papers, correspondence on various matters.
* Stakeholder Management – Build effective stakeholder relationships, take steps to add value for the stakeholder; link people with other areas as appropriate and monitor stakeholder satisfaction. These relationships have spanned across DTP, intergovernmental departments and agencies including DTP, VicPol, DHS, DJCS and TAC to support the monitoring and governance of programs.
* Continuous Improvement – Achieve efficiencies and improvements in processes and analyses through innovations in data reporting and insights, such as integration of disparate data sets into reporting, and the design and production of improved visual and narrative representations of data and insights.
Mandatory Qualifications and experience
* Demonstrated experience in a Portfolio/Program Management Office, or equivalent, within a large and complex organisation.
* Proficient with commonly used desktop, document management, business intelligence tools & systems (e.g. MS-Office Applications and other web-based applications
* Experience in leading reporting teams and monitoring programs or projects
Desirable
* Experience in similar industries highly desirable
* Experience with Financial data and Risk Management will also be highly regarded
* Proven, well-developed research and problem-solving skills including high level written communication skills
* Demonstrated experience in one or more visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
