About the Role

Working closely with Business Unit (BU) Leaders and reporting to the Group Financial Controller in Australia, you will be the key contact for the accounting function for the Trapeze Rail business unit (BU) across several companies in Australia and the UK. You’ll be responsible for the preparation of financial results, with a focus on quality, efficiency and attention to detail, in addition to the preparation of statutory returns and adherence to financial and tax regulations.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Become a key member of the leadership team and provide various levels of business partnering and strategic support for the GM, Heads of Departments and other key stakeholders.
- Preparation of monthly accounts for allocated BU’s across multiple companies.
- Preparation of monthly financial and management reporting to internal management, and financial reporting required for the operating group in accordance with their reporting requirements and stringent month end timelines.
- Conducting variance analysis of financial results against budget and providing meaningful commentary.
- Preparation of rolling quarterly forecasts with MD,



including analysis of movements between prior and current forecasts and assist in preparation of presentation to management.
- Provide ad hoc support to Trapeze management as required to enable effective management and analysis of Trapeze Rail businesses.
- Actively work with other team members to identify inefficient processes and implement changes to ensure continuous improvements in business processes.
- Provide financial leadership to the sales and project team in the preparation of tender/bid proposals and submissions and ensure adherence with accounting guidelines. Conduct regular financial review of projects with Project Managers to ensure accurate recording of time and resource allocations and estimates to complete.
- Calculation of monthly POC (percentage of completion) across all local and international projects.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Management of complex inter-company relationships including formal agreements, monthly expense and revenue allocations, FX revaluations and liaison with Finance staff within the our group of companies around the world.
- Preparation of weekly cashflow and forecasting.
- Preparation of BAS, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, FBT and other statutory returns as required.
- Preparation of supporting schedules required for the Group consolidated income tax return.
- Review of Fortnightly payroll according to employee timesheets.
- Manage and oversee the Accounts Receivable function including reconciliation of monthly, quarterly and annual software maintenance invoicing and project invoicing. Management of customer collections.
- Manage and oversee the Accounts Payable function including expense allocation, project costing and overseeing weekly payment runs.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
- Provision of information for local audits as required.




- Train operational staff in processes and procedures as required.

Your Education & Experience

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or Commerce.
- Minimum of five (5) + years proven experience in Financial Accounting, preferably in a commercial environment.
- Accredited CA/CPA qualifications or studying towards completion is essential.
- Demonstrable intermediate analytical and Excel skills.
- IFRS knowledge desirable.
- Proven exposure to foreign currency transactions is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a Project Delivery and Service/Support environment is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with Great Plains, Adaptive or other large ERP systems is highly desirable.

- Aptitude to learn displaying a high level of initiative to improve processes and a keen eye for detail.
- Consultative style and interacts in a positive and skilled manor with all key stakeholders and customers.

Travel

- The position may involve both domestic and international travel.
