PRIMARY DETAIL
Responsible for managing the ServiceNow platform, including the design, development, configuration of new system functionality and ongoing IT advice and support.
• Salary Package: From $99,739 to $108,139 (HEW Level 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation contribution and annual leave loading.
• Appointment Type: Full-time, continuing role
• Location: Macquarie University, North Ryde

Application Services is responsible for providing the ongoing Business as Usual management and support activities associated with applications, platforms and technologies managed by MQ IT.
The Applications Specialist (ServiceNow) will be responsible for:
- Providing ServiceNow technical expertise to configure new solutions in line with the existing system architecture and design.
- Designing, development and enhancement of catalogue items, forms and workflows.
- Configuring and implementing various aspects of ServiceNow - UI, script includes, client scripts, business rules, ACL.
- Working closely with Project Managers and representatives of Faculties to understand business needs, provide progress updates and communicate issues that may impact project success.
- Liaising with Service Desk and the business to provide timely support including troubleshooting, training, user/group administration, and reporting.
- Continuous improvement of processes,
systems performance, working methods, and tools.
- Following the change control process to implement changes, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Ensuring the latest release of ServiceNow is implemented in a timely manner with minimal or no disruption to operations.
- Vendor management and communication for escalation of critical issues.
- Producing reports based on defined measures, metrics and key performance indicators.
- Creating and maintaining solution design and operation documentation.
About You
You are an experienced IT professional, having been a subject matter expert in a relevant business domain, application platform or technology stack (principally ServiceNow). You will have knowledge of IT service management concepts and experience with their applications in an enterprise work environment supporting both cloud and hybrid on-premises application configurations. You will be an effective communicator, with good verbal and written skills with clients and other business stakeholders.

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience as a subject matter expert in ServiceNow support functions, processes and procedures, particularly in relation into their application support requirements.
- Experience managing and leading high-performance teams consisting of technology professionals responsible for Level 2 and Level 3 technical support.
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following application development and support capabilities including requirements analysis, design, build and configuration, test, change management and training, release management, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance.
- Experience in incident response, resolution and post incident analysis of major incidents.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to analyse and interpret requirements and information from numerous sources.
- Proven experience in documenting operational support procedures.
