About the role
Here at Karmo, we’re on a mission to evolve the way we access private transportation. We have established product lines, an existing and growing customer base, and are experiencing a sustained growth spurt which is driving us to build a larger business with a variety of alternatives to traditional car ownership, placing Karmo in a prime position within the burgeoning mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) industry in Australia.
We are looking for a Business Analyst with a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a high attention to detail. As part of the role you will receive on-the-job training and you will be mentored and guided by the existing Product Management team. You will be working with the founding team and be part of the first 30 employees responsible for bringing the company’s vision to life by building bespoke systems that will take our company to the next level. As a profitable, funded startup, you will work directly with the CEO, COO, Product Management and Engineering teams on building our core software offerings. You will also work closely with our operations team, meet customers and suppliers, and generally be a key contributor in ensuring that we are building high-value, fit-for-purpose products.
Responsibilities
- Performing requirements analysis through discussions with SMEs and stakeholders across all levels within the business
- Validating business requirements and ensuring solutions meet business and customer’s needs and requirements
- Documenting business requirements through Jira user stories and in confluence
- Performing functional and usability tests of increments released by the scrum team
- Actively participating as an embedded member of the scrum team

What you’ll do day to day
Perform requirements analysis on upcoming features for our bespoke software products
Create high-quality user stories based on requirements
Work closely within the scrum team ensuring quality control is defined and conveyed prior to development commencing
Perform quality assurance of released increments

Meet the team and learn the business
Start performing requirements analysis, creating user stories, performing quality control measures and quality assurance
Start embedding as a member of the scrum team
First 60 Days
Commence working on our product (more detail to be provided as part of the interview process)
First 90 Days
Commence shipping MVPs and internal tools (more detail to be provided as part of the interview process)
About you
You possess:
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- A can-do attitude and the ability to work autonomously while still being a team player.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in creating process flow diagrams
- Experience in conducting requirements validation and quality assurance of applications, websites, and SaaS products
- Experience using Jira and Confluence (preferred, but not required)
- Experience in Scrum (preferred, but not required)
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferred, but not required)
Karmo Work Style
You can expect to work from our Brisbane office 3 days per week so we can conduct high bandwidth team meetings / strategy sessions / general work. However, you can work from home on days where face to face work is not required (note: to provide you with the best onboarding experience and set you up for success, you can expect to be in the office more frequently during your first 1-2 months).
