Communications Officer
- Employment Type: Part-time (28 hour week)
- Duration: 12 month fixed term contract (possibility of extension)
- Remuneration: $91k - $97k FTE + 17% Super and leave loading

Why Your Role Matters:
The Department of Developmental Disability Neuropsychiatry (3DN) leads translational research and capacity building in the area of intellectual and developmental disability health and wellbeing in Australia.
As the Communications Officer, you will provide valuable input and support for 3DN’s internal and external strategic and digital communications and act as a key central support role for projects requiring customised IT and information management solutions.
The Strategy and Communications Officer reports to the Professor and has no direct reports.
Who You Are:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Experiences in the design, development, review and update of marketing and fundraising content including websites, e-marketing and social media campaigns and hard-copy collateral.
- Previous experience in video, podcast and webinar production, digital media management and use of CRM software (Salesforce) and broadcast email software would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency using a range of web 2.0 technologies and visual and graphic design tools, including, InDesign and Photoshop and Sharepoint, proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Strong understanding of Search Engine Optimisation principles and web analytics and demonstrated experience in HTML for content curation and troubleshooting (advanced level desirable).
- Experience using Google Search Console would be highly desirable.
- An understanding of technical architecture / integration of systems and demonstrated experience in the maintenance of image libraries, mobile applications, digital marketing strategies and online promotional strategies.
- Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines, while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences, including ability to produce accessible, easy read content.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team to deliver high quality work.
- Demonstrated experience in using and maintaining complex technology systems and in implementing effective web and information management solutions.
- Experience in implementing and evaluating marketing and communication strategies including the production of marketing collateral, digital marketing campaigns and event management within budget.
