Position Summary

- Grade 2 Dietitian, leave backfillrole
- Fixed term, full time, 40 hrs /week, accrued day off 1/month
- Located across all sites, Austin & Repat (Heidelberg) and Talbot (Kew)
- Pay range$45.96 - $52.00 per hour + salary packaging + super + higher qualification allowance if applicable.
- Contract term: 30 January 2023 to 2 February 2024

About the Nutrition and Dietetics Department

Our department is a vibrant and fast-paced environment with a team of 42 staff (34 EFT) across three sites. We function as one department and work in a supportive and friendly setting. We provide service to inpatients, outpatients and home/community programs, spanning acute care, sub-acute care and rehabilitation. Our Dietitians are experts in medical nutrition therapy across a range of clinical specialties and we are organised intoclinical streams: specialist medicine, ICU/surgical/gastro, oncology, paediatrics and mental health, sub-acute & rehab. Other key activities include staff education and development, student training,



quality improvement, research and food service

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical backfill when staff take leave.You will be expected to work in all clinical areas (with training provided as needed) and across all sites. Most work is at the Austin acute site due to the size of our team there. Your work allocation is usually done a month ahead but can change at short notice if our staffing changes.You willwork under the direction of the Grade 4 operations lead, andon a daily basisunder the direction of an allocated team leader. You will participate in clinical supervision, department meetings and department-wide activities. Weekend work is expected, around one shift per month. A regular day will see you confirming your work allocation in the morning, communicating with your team leader/s about work allocation and status across the day, seeing patients and usingclinical systems.

About you:

Ideally, you’ll have:

- Significant experience (ideally 3 years) in a large and fast-paced hospital environment.
- Experience in a range of clinical areas and settings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills andability tocreate positive working relationships.
- Good problem-solving skills,resourcefulness and ability to work independently.
- Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise.




- Excellent knowledge and skills in providing patient-centred care.
