Job Description
We are looking for an operations Manager to oversee our Banksmeadow plastics transport and warehouse operation. This role will suit a seasoned Operations Manager perhaps looking to scale down and enjoy a Monday to Friday role with a smaller fleet and workforce.
Still providing the usual challenges of a managing people, fleet and a warehouse operation, we require the stability and experience of a good people manager, with prior transport and warehouse experience. With a stable long-term workforce, you will maintain the positive culture and dynamic and ensure operational activities are carried out as contractually agreed. This role will liaise heavily with internal stakeholders as well as be present on customer meetings, it will measure performance without responsibility of a P&L; and work closely with the team.
As the Operations Manager, you will:
- Day-to-day supervision of Transport operational activities across the site to and from the port.
- Build solid relationships with your drivers ensuring schedules are adhered to.
- Conduct regular toolbox meetings and facilitate health, safety and environmental initiatives.
- Maintain established work systems to enable effective working as individuals and as a team to achieve the standards and results required.
- Ensure compliance across the fleet with accreditations/licences and road safety compliance.
- Review and implement delivery improvement plans associated with work schedules, route plans, driver efficiency and development plans
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Sound knowledge of the transport and Logistics industries.
- Experience and knowledge of personnel and operational requirements, relating to risk assessment,
training and compliance.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and fatigue management as it pertains to the Transport industry.
- Demonstrated experience in an Operations supervisor or Management role.
- Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
