About your opportunity
This is a permanent full time position.
Delivering effective physiotherapy clinical services to an allocated inpatient and/or outpatient caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team primarily within the Townsville University Hospital and other service locations across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
Where the allocation is to the Townsville University Hospital, the position contributes to a 7-day, extended-hours physiotherapy (Emergency Department) and on-call service.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated competent level of knowledge, expertise and skill in physiotherapy clinical practice.
- Communication: Demonstrated effective communication skills and an ability to work effectively as part of a single-discipline or a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Clinical Ability:
Demonstrated ability to manage a clinical caseload under the clinical practice supervision of more senior physiotherapists; and to assess non-complex patients and interpret assessment findings to develop and implement safe and effective routine physiotherapy interventions.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to supervise assistant staff and contribute to the supervision of students on work experience or clinical placement.
Generous remuneration package value up to $118,996 p.a. comprising:
- Salary range of $70,958 to $104,295 p.a. (HP3)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements
- It is a mandatory requirement to be and to remain vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Mandatory requirements are possession of a qualification in physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution and current registration, or eligibility for current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- 6 month probation period.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
