About The Role

This is an exciting chance for a Research Assistant to work on a Brain and Behaviour Research Foundation (BBRF) funded study looking for new biomarkers to guide treatment selection in early psychotic illness. The Research Assistant will work with young people (aged 15 to 25 years) attending specialist clinical services at Orygen and will be responsible for recruiting research participants, conducting clinical interviews and neuroimaging assessments, collecting and recording accurate study data, and developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Participate in research independently and as a member of a research team, including supporting a researcher with lived experience.
- Contribute to publications arising from scholarship and research, such as publication of books and in peer-reviewed journals.

Who We Are Looking For





We are looking for an experienced Research Assistant who displays self-initiative and works effectively with a range of stakeholders.

You will also have:

- An Undergraduate degree with Honours in behavioural or social sciences or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct interviews and interact with young people with mental health problems.
- Demonstrated administrative, organisation and problem-solving skills, including meticulous record keeping, data management skills and ability to prioritise work to manage during peak periods.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
