Civmec has secured the award of a major construction contract for the Rio Tinto Western Range Project at their Paraburdoo site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The iron ore project includes Greenfields and Brownfields scope with the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system. The Greenfields scope includes a new primary crushing facility, discharge conveyor and transfer station and a 17-kilometre overland conveying system that transfers the ore through to the existing Paraburdoo COS. The overland conveying system includes multiple conveyor flights,



transfer stations and creek crossings to link the new primary crusher to the existing process plant. The Brownfields scope includes extensive modifications to the current Paraburdoo COS and downstream conveying system including additions of new feed points at the COS, new ore transfer equipment, conveyor replacements, conveyor upgrades, drive replacements and a range of other general modifications to receive the current ore stream.

The Role

We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced SMP Superintendents to join our experienced and talented SMP delivery teams playing a key role in the management and delivery of this iconic project.

- Be the Civmec representative to the client regarding technical queries and questions
- Lead onsite health and safety compliance in line with the HSE Plan
- Execute the construction project plans utilising your skills and expertise - take control and plan the future of the project
- Engage and report to the project manager, clients and stakeholders, to provide up to date real time information on the progress of the project
- Drive work schedules,



plans and teams to meet project requirements on time and within budget

About You

- You will be an experienced Superintendent (either SMP or rigging)
- Site based tank, piping, and pressure vessel erection experience (highly desirable)
- Previous experience on related projects in the mining and resources sector
- Well-honed project planning and scheduling skills
- Strong leadership qualities – know how to lead a team and a project
