Job Description

Your New Role

We have an prospect for an experienced Systems Administrator to support JP2060 Ph4, a multi-year Defence program to deliver an enterprise Health Knowledge Management System. This capability will enable better clinical decision making for the ADF.
This role will maintain the smooth operation of the cloud and on premise systems.

Duties include:

- Operational monitoring and management of a new AWS environment and associated tools and components
- Involvement in the deployment of applications into multiple new on premise environment and disconnected environments
- Monitoring of Incident management/resolution of applications and servers.
- Daily checking of tools and system availability




- Closely monitoring system performance during satellite connectivity (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk)
- Install, configure and manage Application with Support with Vendor.
- Maintain operational capability of Windows, Linux and Container systems / Kubernetes (Rancher), helm charts.
- Follow the automate first approach, using one or more of the following – terraform, Ansible, powershell, bash, python, groovy
- Create/Maintain operational documentation
- Liaise with external stakeholders in regards to implementation and maintenance of systems or fixes delivered under the project
- Various other tasks as directed.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a current NV-1 security clearance, or be able to gain one.

- Proactive, self-starter, able to troubleshoot problems from start to resolution and document findings.

- Working knowledge of cloud, container,



automation and software deployment practices
- Fundamental networking skills eg ports and protocols, firewalls, security zones
- Understanding of DevOps tools and concepts, IaC
- Intermediate skills and experience of executing automated provisioning and deployments
- An ability to work independently with limited guidance
- Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure and to SLAs
- A willingness to learn and work towards a self-defined career path in the company
- Good written and verbal communications with the ability to write and present briefs as required, along with writing and interpreting policy
- Customer Service Advocacy - able to empathise and effectively communicate with end users and team members.
